A pie to try.

A pie to try

First things first, my title should read as 'Pies to Try' but it didn't sound as 'rhymey' and nice as 'A Pie to Try', so yea, just take it as it is.

Now let's get into the REAL DEAL! If you love dessert pies/tarts, then A Pie Thing in Damansara Utama is your thing *pun intended*. I was introduced to these oh-so-good pies by a family friend and I'm so glad it happened because these pies are delectable with the just the right amount of sweetness to avoid causing you that 'jelak' (overpowering/overwhelming) feeling.

To top things off, the filling to base ratio is just nice, so you get to taste the best of both, which by the way is another reason why you wouldn't feel jelak while devouring their dessert pies.

It was recommended that I try their Salted Caramel Cheese and Blueberry Cheese pies. On top of that, I also ordered their Lemon Curd pie, I did tell you I am greedy, so yea you shouldn't be surprised, haha!

Left: Salted Caramel Cheese; Top: Lemon Curd; Below: Blueberry Cheese

Their Salted Caramel Cheese and Lemon Curd pies are luscious! Every bite packs so much yummy goodness and sends dopamine rushes instantaneously. Both pies have a good balance of flavour, the Salted Caramel Cheese having that additional sweetness of course thanks to the caramel and a rich, velvety cream cheese filling, topped with almonds, giving it a nice crunch element. An incredibly decadent pie that you would not want to miss! Whereas the Lemon Curd has the right proportions of sweet and tart, with a touch of zing in every bite you take. Definitely going to try their Lemon Mascarpone Cheesecake Pie, next!

Oh, if you re wondering how the Blueberry Cheese pie tasted, it was pretty good but not something I would personally recommend because blueberries aren't my thing. Go ahead and try it if blueberries are your thing. ;)

Yummy in my tummy!

I also wanted to try their savoury pies, so a Pulled Lamb Pie was added to the order list. The meat was tender and had that lovely lamb fat taste to it and the gravy was flavourful but sadly it was just way too salty, perhaps it was a one off mishap but a very sorry one for sure because despite it tasting wonderful, I could not eat much of it due to the overdose of salt.

Pulled Lamb Pie which could do with way less salt but delicious nonetheless

TO NOTE: All pies were ordered in. Also, I can't seem to find the Pulled Lamb Pie on Grab or FoodPanda anymore, not sure why. Please feel free to keep checking or call the outlet to enquire.

My overall verdict: Tash-approved! All dessert/sweet pie lovers, do give it a try and let me know what you think!
